This course presents the numerical methods used to model linear acoustics, vibrations and their coupling for vibroacoustic devices in the low-frequency range. This includes the Finite Element Method and the Boundary Element Method.
Fundamentals of linear acoustics and vibrations, modal approach, Green functions, fundamentals on mesh interpolation.
Local linear equations in acoustics and vibrations, boundary conditions and acoustic/vibration coupling, weak form, application to the Finite Element Method, integral formulation for acoustic fields, application to the Boundary Element Method, direct (trace) / indirect (jump) formulations, conditions to accurately model a system (mesh conditions, virtual eigenfrequencies).
