To enroll in a first or second year of a Bachelor’s Degree program, you have to hand in a preliminary application for admission (Demande d'admission préalable), either via the software called PASTEL if you come from a member country of CEF (Centre pour les Etudes en France) or by filling in a green and white folder.
You will have to pick up a « green » folder at the « Maison de l’Université » in the SEVU (Service des Etudes et de la vie Universitaire) between the 15th of December and the 15th of January for the upcoming year of study.
You will have to pick up a « white » folder at the French Embassy, from the Service of Cooperation and Cultural Action (Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle). Students from countries members of Campus France can apply online at the following webpage : http://www.(name of the country).campusfrance.org

An evaluation of the level of French through a French proficiency test called TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français). A minimum score of 400 is compulsory for every foreign student outside the European Union and non-French-speaking countries (except those coming as an exchange student).

The student’s file will be sent to the Université du Maine for examination by the pedagogical commission.
You will have to ask for an Accreditation of prior studies (the application form has to be picked up at the faculty's administration).
It is recommended to fill out a prior application for admission (Demande d’Admission Préalable, DAP *) at the same time in the first or the second year of the Bachelor’s degree program, because a refusal in the third year of the Bachelor’s degree program doesn't give you the right to enroll in the first or second year of Bachelor's degree program.
* DAP : « green folder » if you live in France
« white folder » if you live in a foreign country
To enroll in the third year of a Bachelor’s degree program or in a Master’s degree program (first and second year), the student has to attach a certificate to their Accreditation of prior studies indicating his level of French (which can be TCF2, TEF3, TEF3, DALF4, DELF5). This is not mandatory if the student has followed their prior studies in a French-speaking country.
Warning : the document of accreditation does not automatically guarantee acceptance. Some diplomas require an application form that you have to fill out (Bachelor’s degree CCA, Professional Bachelor’s degree, second year of Master’s degree).
